Portraits comprises moments and feelings that will never return, but have become immortalized over time. They leave within us a trace of who we were and what we experienced, recalling a world that no longer exists. We’ve encapsulated the experience of looking through old photographs and portraits and the musty smells of attics and basements. Picture, if you will, discovering old boxes, containing items that take you back to your past.
Portraits captures feelings and memories, spanning twenty years and illustrates the changes in the band members, from their 20s to their 40s. This enabled us to share a common, human bond with our listeners through an immersive, sensory experience that combines various styles of rock. We strived to reflect the beauty of imperfection in old polaroids, now lost to the false ‘joy’ presented in social media images. The songs on ‘Portraits’ range from sweet melodies to the farewells and chills of life. Some reflect happiness and love while others explore the darker side, such as anger and melancholy.
